SIWA members will be able to participate in the Infant Orphanage Volunteer Activity again, starting March 15th. The Eastern Babies’ Home of Eastern Social Welfare Society (ESWS) had temporarily closed the orphanage to allow the babies to recover from fine dust respiratory illness. However, the facility has reopened, so our SIWA volunteers can continue supporting this beautiful cause.

The Eastern Babies’ Home of Eastern Social Welfare Society (ESWS) is an orphanage with approximately 35 babies aged 1 to 6 months, all awaiting adoption. Pediatric doctors and nurses care for them, but they still need volunteers who are able to hold them, talk to them, play with them and feed them. SIWA members volunteer at the orphanage weekly on Fridays from 9am to 12pm, excluding the first Friday of the month.

If you are interested on joining the group of volunteers, please contact the activity coordinator, Brenda Cabrera at brendacabrera.siwa@gmail.com.
