This month we have a wonderful opportunity to learn about Uzbekistan’s culture and cuisine.

The Uzbek national kitchen has a long history and close connection with the Uzbek culture, language, traditions and geographical climatic conditions. Unlike nomadic neighbors (Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Kyrgyz and Turkmens) the Uzbeks have embraced both nomadic and settled lifestyles. This, together with the adoption of the culinary traditions of the Persian and Tajik cultures make the local kitchen highly diverse and original.

Our meal today will consist of Lamb Grill Shashlik (a main dish), Achik chuchuk (salad) and Uzbek Pilaf (also a main dish). We will finish with Chak Chak as dessert.
