This classic up and down Korean hike is about 7km (4 mile). Its rewards are spectacular vistas and historic sites in Bukhansan National Park.  First we will follow a rocky trail along a creek to Seunggasa Temple. More steps will take us up to the 5 meter high Goryeo Dynasty seated Buddha relief carved on the face of a granite cliff.  After another 20 minutes of steep hiking we will arrive at Bibong Peak (520m) to enjoy lunch, stunning vistas and surprising historic sites.  We will return to the city along a forested road, less scenic, but an easier route downhill.  This is a demanding hike; you should be fit. Water and good hiking shoes/boots are a must. We will pace ourselves and take breaks as we go.

This hike is rescheduled from April 30.
