Dr. Javier Cha (College of Liberal Studies, Seoul National University) will provide a guided tour of how the past is remembered, portrayed, and arranged at the National Museum of Korea. SIWA members will join a group of 6 SNU students enrolled in Dr. Cha’s freshman seminar.

Tour Guide: Dr. Javier Cha

Javier Cha is an assistant professor of East Asian Studies in the College of Liberal Studies at Seoul National University. Prior to moving to South Korea, he worked in the Netherlands and Hong Kong. Dr. Cha’s research areas include Confucian philosophy, medieval Korean history, invented traditions, English translation of East Asian classics, and digital methods in the humanities. He received his Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University, and B.A. and M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia.

  • Non-Members pay an additional fee towards the SIWA Welfare Fund.
  • A cancellation fee in the amount of the ticket price is owed after September 25th, 2019.
